Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is Agnieszka Hancock, trading as Amber Connections, estate agent based in Biot, France. You can reach her at agnieszka@amber-connections.com or on +33 6 48 82 60 44. Her full business details are in the legal notice.
To be completed: legal form, postal address and SIREN of the controller, as in the legal notice
What we collect
- Enquiry form. Your name, email address, telephone number if you give it, preferred language, the subject of your enquiry and your message.
- Off-market register. The same contact details plus your search criteria: areas, type of home, budget range, bedrooms, land, features, timing and whether you will borrow.
- Messages. What you send us by email, telephone or WhatsApp.
- When you buy or sell with us. The details needed to prepare a mandate, together with the identity documents and information French law requires an estate agent to collect to prevent money laundering.
We do not ask for and do not want sensitive data such as health information. Please do not send identity documents through the website forms.
Why we use it
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Answering your enquiry and arranging calls or viewings | Steps taken at your request before a contract; otherwise our legitimate interest in replying |
| Sending you homes that match your off-market criteria | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Preparing and carrying out a sale or search mandate | Performance of the contract |
| Identity checks against money laundering and keeping records | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising profiles and we make no automated decisions about you.
Who sees it
Your data is seen by Agnieszka Hancock. Where your enquiry concerns a home presented with a partner agency, such as Azure & Stone Immobilier, we share your name and contact details with that agency only with your agreement. Notaires and other professionals involved in a sale receive what they need to complete it. Our hosting provider stores the data on our behalf.
To be completed: where form submissions are stored and which email provider receives them, with the country of storage
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and off-market registrations: three years from your last contact with us, in line with CNIL guidance on prospect data, after which they are deleted.
- Client files: for the duration of our work for you; identity and transaction records required by anti-money-laundering rules are then kept for five years from the end of the relationship or the transaction.
- Mandates and accounting records: for the periods set by law.
Cookies
Under French law, cookies and similar trackers that are not strictly necessary for a service you request need your consent before they are set. This site uses no advertising, social media or audience-measurement cookies. It may use a cookie strictly needed to make the site work, such as one that remembers your language choice, which does not require consent. If we ever add a tracker that needs consent, a banner will ask you first.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Write to agnieszka@amber-connections.com; we reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity.
If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL), online at cnil.fr or by post to CNIL, Service des plaintes, 3 Place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top. Questions about this policy can be sent through our contact page; the off-market register page describes that form in more detail.
